Kathryn has over 15 years’ experience, having worked in 2 multi-disciplinary surveying practices, in London (Cluttons and JLL) and subsequently setting up the Planning business line for JLL in the Cardiff office in 2014 and launching KEW Planning in 2018.  Kathryn has a very strong commercial understanding of the factors that impact on development viability, providing good planning strategy advice.

Kathryn has worked on a vast range of projects throughout her career from super basements in London; serviced apart-hotels; managing the Ministry of Justice portfolio for Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service; delivering a range of projects with Selfridges (Grade 11 listed and in a Conservation Area) for 6 years including refurbishments, temporary events and the phase 1 masterplan. In the South West (South Gloucester; Bristol; Plymouth) Kathryn has experience of commercial and hotel schemes.  In the last 6 years, Kathryn has worked on a range of projects in South Wales, including housing schemes; multi-million pound school projects and commercial developments.

Kathryn provides a very professional and personal service  to clients and builds trust with local authorities. Kathryn is a full member of the RTPI.

Federica has 10 years' experience and has a specialism in urban design. She has worked on a breadth of planning instructions for a range of clients in the private and public sectors. Federica’s experience has a focus residential-led mixed used developments, tall buildings and education.

Federica has an architectural background and has worked on projects that present significant design challenges, such as complex residential schemes and urban design solutions for large sites. As part of her urban design capacity, Federica produces 3D graphics to illustrate the concept, layout and massing of existing or potential development schemes.

Nia joins KEW Planning as a Graduate Planner following the completion of an intern placement with us through Cardiff University. Nia recently completed a MSc in Spatial Planning and Development, in which she received a Distinction. 

During her studies, Nia volunteered for Planning Aid Wales and worked part-time for Urban Intelligence, a data-driven company that uses technology to identify development opportunities. Her experience in both included conducting thorough research, writing marketing material, and maintaining strong relationships with external agencies. Nia is a licentiate member of the RTPI and remains a volunteer at Planning Aid Wales.

Nathan worked for Transport for London (TFL) as an Assistant Planner for the West-Central Area Team for 12 months (sandwich placement). Throughout his time at TFL he progressed planning applications through from inception to the final stage of gaining planning permission.

This included writing detailed reports, mediating and negotiating planning strategies and outcomes for all stakeholders and co-ordinating teams from multi-disciplinary backgrounds. Nathan joined KEW Planning following an intern placement through Cardiff University and is a licentiate member of the RTPI.
